MiniDisc

MiniDisc TransferWe will transfer your MiniDisc directly to a computer by connecting our Sony MDS-JE330 Deck to the computer using a Toslink digital audio cable, the cable can transfer the audio signal at 24 bit 48kHz ensuring the quality is the highest possible. For Compact Disc and MP3, we capture your audio at 16 bit 44.1kHz as this is the bitrate and frequency required by the CD format. Included in the transfer price is background noise removal which will reduce any hiss from your MiniDiscs.

We use Adobe Audition to save the audio to our computer and use Izotope RX restoration software to filter out the background noise without affecting the quality of the original audio recording. After the noise is filtered out, we will then save the audio files for the desired format of CD, MP3 or another Digital File format. The cost for transferring your Minidiscs is £6 each which covers a running time of up to one hour, should your MiniDisc run longer than an hour then there is an additional charge of £6 for each additional hour.

Compact Disc

Transfer to CDFor the transfer to compact Disc, we will save your files as WAV at 16 bit 44.1kHz the files are then burnt directly to CD, our standard CD’s hold up to 80 minutes should your audio MiniDisc run longer than this we will split each side on to a separate CD. You will receive your disc with a printed title and supplied in a slimline jewel case.

Compact Disc Extras

As standard, you will receive your compact disc with a single track for each side however we do offer a track splitting service, we will always try to split the tracks as accurately as possible however this will depend on the gaps between the tracks. Also included in the track splitting will be a cover for the jewel case showing the artist, album name and track names, for legal reasons we are unable to copy any of the original artwork from the cover or inlay.

Digital Files

USBMP3

We encode the MP3 files at a constant bitrate of 320Mbps and at a frequency of 44.1kHz to match compact disc, we are happy to encode at 48kHz however this may cause problems with some mp3 players and phones, you will receive a single track . Once your files are ready we can put them on to a USB drive or you can use our online downloading service where your files will be available to download for 28 days. You can supply a USB drive or we can supply one at an additional cost.

Wav & AIFF

For other file formats such as WAV or AIFF, you will receive your audio files as 24-bit 48mHz files, if this is too high for your requirements we can lower it to 16 bit 44.1Mhz which matches the quality of compact disc. Like MP3 files you will receive a single file. Once your files are ready we can put them on to a USB drive or you can use our online downloading service where your files will be available to download for 28 days. You can supply a USB drive or we can supply one at an additional cost.

Digital File Extras

We also offer our track splitting service for digital files where we will save your files as individual tracks rather than a single track for each side. We will always try to split the tracks as accurately as possible however this will depend on the gaps between the tracks, we will also name your tracks using the track number, artist and track name.

Audio EditingEditing

We also offer an editing service which can be performed after we have captured your audio, our audio editing charges start from £30. The £30 charge includes the first hour of editing time after which there is a charge of £10 for each additional hour we spend editing your audio.

Editing can include balancing tracks, removing unwanted tracks, or EQ balancing, no two editing jobs are the same so please feel free to get in touch with us to discuss your editing requirements, please visit our dedicated editing page for more information.
